LCS Meyer – LCSF Website Write-ups.
The first write-up we have on hand on Dangerous Decibels.
“The Dangerous Decibels®️ program is globally renowned for its evidence-based classroom program shown to be effective at changing knowledge, attitudes and behaviours related to the prevention of noise-induced hearing loss and tinnitus.
LCS Meyer, together with the NUS School of Audiology conducted a workshop on 19 – 20 November 2018 to train and equip 19 Dangerous Decibels®️ Educators to deliver the Dangerous Decibels®️ program to students aged 10 – 11. The Lions Community Service Foundation (Singapore) supported this workshop.
These certified Dangerous Decibels®️ Educators have been rolling out the Dangerous Decibels®️ Classroom Presentation to Juying Primary School students about noise-induced hearing loss and tinnitus (ringing in the ear) and helping them build a habit for hearing concern.
There are plans for greater outreach to include more primary schools as we believe that the children would bring home what they have learnt. And in return, educate their families about noise-induced hearing loss and tinnitus, hence, creating a more significant downstream impact.”
